Have a Need. Meet a Need.
In an ongoing effort to unite our community and bridge gaps between church and culture, we will continue in our efforts to serve the students and families of Prescott Senior Elementary School by providing much needed school supplies for students and families who need our help.
For Our Teachers
Students and their families the only ones who have been hit hard during these rough times. School district budgets have been cut and supplies are down for teachers all around. We can help ease their burdens too, by providing supplies for teachers, we help create the best environment possible four our community to grow through excellent education.
If you can help our community by providing any of the supplies found below, please do by bringing them in during Making Heroes Week to 3000 Prescott Road, Modesto, Ca 95350.

You can also help by spreading the word via this web page and the Craigslist Ad through your social media outlets.
Project Community will be meeting with parents and students at Prescott Senior Elementary School (grades 7-8) August 12th to start the process of meeting needs on their end. Below you see the feedback card we are encouraging families to fill out in order to receive their free backpack. We don’t want this project to be a free hand-out, not like gifts are a bad thing; we just want this to help create stronger bonds within our community, and creating ownership on all side is the best way to accomplish that goal. If you would like to be a part of project: Meet A Need, shot us off an email and we will get you started with us right away.
Project Community: Building More Than Buildings
While construction is under way at Prescott Senior Elementary, the middle school we are partnering with in the “Have A Need? Meet A Need.” project, construction is under way on a much deeper level here within the Prescott community, as this project connects students and their families, churches and a variety of businesses and community members together for the betterment of all. Our community is being transformed through the shared vision of community ownership, and with great project coordinators and an amazing network of supporters, we will accomplish our mission.
WE DID IT!!!
Over a dozen families and twenty-six students later, we have accomplished our shared goal of supplying backpacks for students at Prescott Senior Elementary School, and beyond.
What really makes this a success is that we were able to create a greater bond between church and school, bring awareness to our community and generate new opportunities for others to become involved in the future.
Because of this success, we will be launching two new projects, one on October and another in November. Two more opportunities to meet needs. Two more opportunities to bring community together. Two more opportunities to show everyone that we belong to one another.
To participate in a MEET A NEED Project, send off an email to let us know how you would like to contribute.
Clothes Closet: Meet A Need
We created more community bridges with the backpack drive (this year and last), we brought more of our neighbors on board by providing arenas for everyone to become involved in serving their community, and here we are now: standing on yet another precipice where even more can become a part of a community wide solution, where Christ is the center.
Jumping off the encouraging success of the “Have A Need? Meet A Need?” backpack drive, we are continuing our serve in another way. What we’re asking now is that you partner with us as we provide outerwear for those in our community who can use our assistance.
Here’s how you can partner with us:
We’re kicking this event off Sunday, October 31, 2010 at 1100a, at Prescott Church. If you can partner with us anytime leading up to the event, during the event or afterward, we would love to serve alongside you. For more info, email Russ Cantu or call the church office at 209-529-7200. In the meantime, you can schedule a time to drop off your items at the church. All donations need to be received by Oct 28th.
