Bridget Messina

Bridget Messina MS, RNC, is a registered nurse with over twenty years of experience. She received her bachelor’s degree from SUNY Plattsburgh and her master’s degree in Nursing Education from Molloy College. She spent most of her career at the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York. While there Bridget worked with critically ill children facing a variety of medical problems including gastrointestinal issues, organ transplants, and general surgery. She is currently an undergraduate clinical instructor in both pediatrics and adults at Columbia University School of Nursing.

After seeing a presentation describing Project Community’s Rewind I: Binge Drinking program, Bridget was impressed with the innovative way information relating to binge drinking was presented to teens and young adults. Replacing myths with facts and empowering teens with information to make a difference in their own lives, as well as the lives of their friends, resonated with her and she joined the board.

Going forward with Project Community, Bridget would like to use the latest technology to increase access to the programs to serve more adolescents and their families.
